Ruby Dobson Cottage

Built in 2004, Ruby Dobson Cottage is a large log home with three bedrooms for children, three bedrooms for staff, five bathrooms and a large finished basement.  This home is part of our long-term program. Children in this program stay in our care as long as needed. Designed to be slightly less structured, the boys in this home enjoy weekly outings, church every Sunday and Wednesday, and playing outside. Ruby Dobson Cottage was made possible thanks to the combined gifts of Ruby Dobson and many other anonymous donors as well as volunteer labor.

Ruby Living Room

The Ruby Dobson Cottage boasts an open-concept floor plan and a spacious family room. Here our boys and staff enjoy game nights, movie nights, and nightly devotions. This room is also home to our cottage ferret, Bandit.

Ruby Dining Room

The family room seamlessly transitions into the dining room. Every night, the boys gather with staff for a delicious home-cooked meal. Our staff cherish these family dinners, as many of our boys have never experienced such a tradition. We firmly believe that family meals are a vital component of building loving relationships with our kids because “Love equals time.”

Ruby Kitchen

Ruby Dobson Cottage features a well-appointed kitchen with ample space to prepare home-cooked meals daily. The kitchen also includes a small pantry and an adjacent laundry room.

Boys' Bedrooms

Each room is equipped with desks, chest-of-drawers, and ample closet space. The children take enjoy decorating their rooms with plush animals and pictures of their family and friends. The spacious basement of Ruby Dobson houses one of the boys’ favorite hobbies—lifting weights. They love lifting weights and seeing who can lift the most. In addition to the weights, the basement features a second family room with a TV for movie nights! The basement is also home to the largest food pantry on campus. Many of our donations are stored here until they are needed at another cottage on campus.
